The Workshops Rail Museum was a site of construction, maintenance and technology for Queensland's booming rail industry. In its time over 200 steam locomotives were constructed here making it one-of-a-kind in Australia today! During WWII when 3 thousand people worked onsite making this state’s largest employer at that point - not even close to being done yet? Now after being renovated as an iconic museum with the oldest continually operating workshop still standing tall; visitors can come to see what life might have been like back then while learning more about our history along the way.
The rebirth of this site in 2002, coupled with Australia's oldest continually operating railway workshops made it a must visit by tourists from all around world who come to see what really goes on behind closed doors at Queensland’s iconic "The Workshop".
