Black Coal Detox Latte Recipe

They had emerald green matcha latte, bright gold turmeric latte … why not try a smoky black charcoal latte?

Activated charcoal is a trendy ingredient that you can find in coffee drinks, ice cream, and even cocktails across town. The charcoal adds a mysterious dark hue to everything it touches, but there are reasons why people reach for charcoal that goes beyond the visual.

Some people hold activated charcoal for occasional indigestion, and it has a reputation for relieving bloating in some people. Others are after its detoxifying effects and claim that they notice a difference in their skin clarity.

Charcoal, nutrients and medicines

When consuming charcoal it is very important to remove it from foods and vitamins and to stay hydrated. If you are taking any medication, ask your doctor about consuming charcoal, as the charcoal can reduce the effects of some medications.

How does activated charcoal taste?

You may be wondering if breaking a charcoal capsule into your latte will make it taste like your garden grill. Rest assured it doesn’t. The activated charcoal doesn’t add much flavor and certainly doesn’t taste burnt as you might expect.

That’s great news for this charcoal latte. You taste cozy vanilla and creamy, frothy milk, slightly sweetened. And who knows, your skin can shine afterwards.

Let’s make one.
