One of the best things about the ketogenic diet is the amazing food you can eat. Keto is a high fat diet, and fat is generally full of flavor! However, there are times when you need to get creative if you want to create an ex-favorite keto-style meal! One such food is KFC Kentucky Fried Chicken. Sometimes when people start keto they look for a keto KFC substitute. We already have an amazing recipe for Keto Southern Fried Chicken Tenders that uses almond flour for breading. It's one of our favorite recipes, but it may have been defeated by a new contender to the Keto Southern Fried Chicken throne!

This recipe was created by Redditor u / jvidican92 who kindly allowed us to post it here. As you can see in the photo, these keto chicken offerings look amazingly like the real thing! But the similarity doesn't end there! They taste absolutely fantastic and have a crunch to match!

Keto Southern Fried Chicken

Our Original Almond Flour Keto Southern Fried Chicken Tender might be a little inconsistent with the coating. They are coated with almond flour and baked in the oven. If you bake them too short and they can be damp, bake them too long and they can be burned and dried out. This made it difficult for them to become a true Keto KFC substitute. However, this is no longer a problem.

First, this recipe uses tasteless protein powder as a coating instead of almond flour. That way you can fry the chicken instead of baking it because the protein powder in the oil is crispy where almond flour just soaks up the oil and gets moist.

However, these keto tenders are crispy, crunchy, and full of flavor. If you are looking for a keto KFC fix, you've come to the right place!

The nutritional information applies to this ENTIRE recipe. You could serve two with it, but you probably won't want to share!
